The years have gone past, since the event that has been labeled, The Slow Death
of Planet Earth. In 2012, with the newly acquired data of a conglomeration of the worlds brightest and most intelligent scientific minds, the was a worldwide movement to prevent the inevitable destruction of our planet. Mayan mysteries aside, the asteroid, Toutatis was to pass disturbingly close through Earths orbit. Recalculation efforts on the asteroids
current trajectory were repeated over and over. The answers were frightening. It was
determined that, without our intervention, asteroid 243 IDA, would pass earth close
enough in 2012, to be affected by the planets gravitational field, setting a trajectory
of the asteroid to return in 2036, directly setting Earth and the asteroid into a direct impact.
A global unification was called upon, to determine the best course of action, to ensure the
survival of life on Earth. The only feasible ideas set forth, was to attempt through
nuclear means, to redirect the asteroids path. Billions of dollars of machinery, and
weapons were prepared.
On the given date, December 1, 2012, the worlds attention was focused, in the first global
event, as the expansive payloads of nuclear arms were directed into the path of the
oncoming asteroid.
The impact of all the worlds nuclear weaponry was seen visibly in the sky. Cheers erupted around the world in unison. Unfortunately we celebrated to early. Instead of the resulting explosion redirecting the asteroid away, it worsened the problem The asteroid was destroyed, into several 1000 pieces, and fueled by a late detonation, was now set into a direct impact with the planet.
The largest remains, now contaminated by our careless nuclear wastes, impacted the
planet on December 12. Three, several miles long, asteroids, obliterated the ukraine,
northern canada, and the pacific rim. Global repercussion were felt immediately. Millions died and the world was thrown into a global catastrophe. Life as we had known it changed.
After the original impacts, more would occur through out the next several decades, as
the destroyed irradiated asteroids remains, caught by the gravitational forces of the planet, would continue a slow spiral orbit, pummeling the wasted planet, spreading destruction and radiation across the globe.
